Salary: CAD 149,000 - 220,000 / annual
Waabi is an AI company building next-generation self-driving technology, founded by AI pioneer Raquel Urtasun. The Commercial Software team is building the platform that interfaces with autonomous vehicles, enabling customers and internal operations to manage fleets of trucks.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and research scientists using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale. Your responsibilities include:
- Building reliable and scalable tools and frameworks to support autonomous vehicle development
- Developing innovative solutions for challenging problems with production-quality software
- Identifying requirements, building, and deploying software end-to-end
- Working closely with the onboard team to integrate the platform with vehicles
- Partnering with the commercial team to build automated integrations with customer systems
- Collaborating with design to create polished, seamless user interfaces
- Learning from experienced developers in autonomous vehicles and machine learning
The Commercial Software team is a full-stack web development group that bridges vehicle systems, customer integrations, and user-facing interfaces.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of industry experience developing production-quality software
- Demonstrated software engineering experience through internships, work experience, or coding competitions
- Proficiency in reading and developing production-quality software; experience with Go or TypeScript required
- Open-minded and collaborative team player with willingness to help others
BONUS/NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience in modern web technologies, distributed systems, data storage and processing, cloud infrastructure, test-driven and API-driven development methodologies, or system design/architecture
- Experience in ML and self-driving
- Experience working with robotics or machine learning research teams
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
