Salary: USD 134,000 - 168,000 / annual
Addepar is a global data and AI platform serving investment professionals, managing nearly $9 trillion in assets across 1,400+ firms in 60 countries. The Client Experience Frameworks team owns the UI platform and design system that all product engineers at Addepar build with—a component library and design system that must work seamlessly across multiple frontend frameworks and serve a global product used by thousands of investment professionals.
In this Senior Software Engineer role, you won't be building product features; instead, you'll build the tools, systems, and primitives that make other engineers productive. You'll think deeply about web standards, component architecture, and how to deliver a consistent, performant UI across a diverse and evolving technical stack. You'll own technical direction, drive adoption across the organization, and make pragmatic architecture decisions that balance long-term scalability with real-world constraints.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain framework-agnostic UI components serving product teams working across multiple frontend technologies
- Support design system adoption across the product engineering organization, helping teams integrate and migrate
- Contribute to developer experience through build tooling, testing infrastructure, documentation, and automation
- Write declarative, well-tested, and accessible component code with attention to detail and long-term maintainability
- Learn and work across multiple frontend frameworks, developing deep understanding of how they relate to underlying web standards
- Participate in design reviews with a high bar for component architecture, API design, and consistency
- Champion performance, accessibility, and web standards as first-class concerns
You have solid TypeScript or JavaScript fundamentals and experience with at least one modern UI framework (React, Vue, Svelte, Angular, Ember, or similar). You understand web standards: how the DOM works, browser APIs, and how components render and update. You have at least 1 year of professional software engineering experience and ideally a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
