Zoox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in C++ core data systems. In this role, you will architect and optimize data management infrastructure across Zoox's autonomous vehicle platform, working from data generation through analysis at massive scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and optimizing multi-threaded C++ code running on autonomous vehicles, processing millions of messages per minute
- Building scalable software frameworks to identify and prioritize the most valuable driving data on-robot
- Balancing data capture with operational efficiency, minimizing vehicle turnaround time while ensuring access to critical business intelligence
- Collaborating with on-vehicle software teams to drive adoption of new data frameworks and best practices
- Partnering with autonomy, hardware, safety, legal, and homologation teams to ensure data systems are reliable, compliant, and meet regulatory requirements
- Managing and analyzing petabyte-scale datasets to inform product and safety decisions
You will be at the intersection of real-time embedded systems, distributed data infrastructure, and autonomous vehicle operations. This is a high-impact role where your work directly influences the safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of Zoox's autonomous fleet.
