Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies including Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. The company recently raised $1.5B in Series F funding led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Baseten combines applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and developer tooling to enable frontier AI companies to deploy cutting-edge models to production.
In this role, you will own Baseten's end-to-end billing and revenue infrastructure as a strategic growth lever. Billing is evolving from operational plumbing into a core business function that directly impacts Finance, Sales, and GTM teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the complete billing and revenue infrastructure: pricing, invoicing, metering, and reporting foundations
- Building and evolving the billing platform and integrations (including Orb), ensuring correctness, auditability, and high-trust customer and internal experiences
- Partnering with Finance, Sales, GTM, and Forward Deployed Engineering to translate real-world workflows into reliable internal tooling and automation (quoting, approvals, renewals, usage reconciliation, revenue reporting)
- Designing systems that scale with new products, packaging, and go-to-market motions
- Driving reliability and operational excellence for revenue-critical workflows: monitoring, alerting, incident response, backfills, and runbooks
- Leading high-impact projects end-to-end: clarifying requirements, proposing technical approaches, shipping iteratively, and raising quality and velocity standards
- Debugging and resolving production issues with urgency and clear stakeholder communication
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with billing systems or building internal tools
- Deep knowledge of the web stack and databases
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
