Aalyria is a leading aerospace technology company specializing in laser communications and software-defined networking platforms for satellite and airborne mesh networks, including cislunar and deep-space communications. The company acquired technology from Google and is revolutionizing how planetary mesh networks are orchestrated and managed across land, sea, air, and space using any radio or optical spectrum.
You will join the core Spacetime engineering team, working on the foundational data models and APIs that represent and evolve complex communications networks. This is a central role where your work directly impacts how every other team at Aalyria builds their systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and evolve core data models for complex communications networks
- Design, build, and operate the APIs through which users and systems interact with Spacetime
- Develop durable abstractions for heterogeneous physical and logical networks
- Maintain the quality, compatibility, consistency, and performance of core product models and interfaces
You'll work alongside seasoned engineers from top-tier tech companies, managing project priorities, timelines, and deliverables while designing, building, testing, and operating production systems. The role offers flexibility to take ownership of new projects as both you and the company grow.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 5+ years experience designing and developing production software systems
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including system design, testing, and debugging
- Experience designing durable APIs, schemas, or domain models
- Experience evolving production interfaces while maintaining compatibility
- Proficiency in Golang, C/C++, Rust, or Java
