Rogo is an AI-powered analytics platform transforming global finance by serving investment banks, private equity funds, and investment firms. The company has achieved product-market fit with a rapidly growing client base and backing from world-class investors. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will architect and build the infrastructure powering Rogo's AI-driven financial analytics platform. Your responsibilities include designing REST and gRPC APIs with stable, scalable server-side implementations and asynchronous code; building large-scale infrastructure for crawling, ranking, and retrieval systems; implementing security and compliance measures for handling sensitive financial data; and writing robust, well-tested, maintainable code. You will raise the bar for code quality, reliability, and product velocity across the engineering team, collaborating with peers to drive technical and interpersonal growth. This role offers real ownership of significant surface area—your work will directly power the workflows of the world's most sophisticated financial institutions. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 4+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, proficiency in a strongly typed language (Rust, C++, Java), and a track record of shipping high-quality products. You should excel at writing performant, readable, well-tested code and have strong general computer science fundamentals. Bonus experience includes protocol buffers and gRPC, MapReduce or distributed parallel computation frameworks, early-stage startup experience, and exposure to world-class product organizations like Notion or Figma. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, high-intensity environments, is ambitious and enjoys solving seemingly impossible problems, is curious about AI and finance, operates as an autonomous owner comfortable with ambiguity, and is collaborative, organized, and thoughtful.
