As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team reporting to the Backend Lead. You will design, develop, and maintain highly scalable backend services and robust APIs that power the platform. Key responsibilities include defining and implementing API contracts for seamless data integration with frontend and consuming services, troubleshooting and optimizing performance of backend systems, data pipelines, and database queries, and architecting cloud infrastructure using AWS services with a focus on scalability and reliability.
You will document system configurations and procedures, conduct rigorous code reviews, and contribute to a high-quality codebase. The role requires at least 3 years of professional experience developing scalable backend systems using object-oriented languages such as Python, Java, or Go. You should have deep experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB), strong understanding of system architecture and distributed systems, and proven experience designing RESTful and/or gRPC APIs. Strong Django and Django REST Framework experience is required, along with solid AWS cloud infrastructure management skills.
You will implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging for production environments, design and deploy containerized microservices on AWS (ECS/Fargate), and champion automation through infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Nice-to-have skills include DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, Docker, and experience with message queuing systems like Kafka or SQS.
