Salary: USD 146,000 - 211,500 / annual
Aurora is developing self-driving technology for the transportation and logistics industry. The Autonomy Controls Software Team is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and verifying the motion control system of the Aurora Driver across all vehicle platforms.
In this role, you will develop motion control algorithms for a safety-critical autonomous vehicle system. You'll analyze control system performance in both offline simulation and on-road execution environments, and verify the robustness of the system to disturbances, failure modes, and varying environmental conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing production-quality motion control algorithms using C++
- Analyzing and simulating nonlinear vehicle dynamics
- Implementing state estimation and signal processing techniques
- Verifying system performance and safety across diverse scenarios
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate controls with vehicle platforms
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience building production-quality C++ code
- 8+ years working on control systems for vehicle platforms in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or related fields
- Solid foundation in control theory and control system design
- Experience analyzing and simulating nonlinear vehicle dynamics
- Knowledge of state estimation and signal processing techniques
Desirable qualifications include familiarity with fail-safe/fail-operational control system design, experience verifying safety-critical and autonomous systems, and a Master's or PhD in a related field.
