Commure is building an AI Operating System for healthcare, transforming how care is delivered, documented, and financed. The platform integrates Ambient AI, intelligent Agents, and autonomous RCM processing across 60+ EHRs, handling $25B+ in annual claims for 500+ healthcare organizations.
The Autonomous Revenue Operations team is building the AI and rules infrastructure that automates healthcare's most manual financial workflows. You'll transform repetitive human work—reading denials, determining fixes, correcting claims, resubmitting, and appealing—into auditable, automated systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Build LLM-powered automation that decides how to fix denied claims, with rigorous evals, dry runs, and audit trails for autonomous operation on real money.
- Design guardrails ensuring automation safety: identity guards, payer-type rules (dental, Medicare A vs. B), duplicate prevention, and QA gates before production.
- Scale a rule engine running hundreds of configurable conditions and actions per customer at high transaction volumes—safely, idempotently, with full explainability.
- Build observability systems converting edge cases into prioritized roadmaps: dashboards tracking automated resubmission approval rates, denial-to-resubmission cycle time, and failure rates by insurance type and denial category.
- Generate appeal letters and medical-record packets automatically with validation scoring for safe unattended delivery.
- Deliver a unified automations console for ops teams to manage all rule engines (billing rules, pre-submission validation, adjustments) in one place.
- Contribute to RCM platform technical direction through architectural improvements and technology proposals.
- Own end-to-end integration workflows from design through deployment and post-launch monitoring.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and healthcare teams on integration requirements and technical approaches.
- Mentor engineers and foster technical excellence through code reviews and best-practice enforcement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent extensive experience
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in frontend languages (Typescript, React)
- Proficiency in backend languages (Python or Go)
- Experience with Git, GCP/AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, relational and non-relational databases, monitoring/alerting tools
- Proven track record designing and implementing end-to-end solutions with successful architectural decisions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments
