Salary: USD 132,000 - 230,000 / annual
Tensec is a fintech founded in 2023 that enables small and medium-sized businesses to access global transaction banking solutions. The company is disrupting the $50 trillion cross-border B2B financial services industry by providing SMBs with user-friendly, efficient, and secure tools to participate in global trade.
As a Software Engineer, you will own features end-to-end—from discovery and design through development, launch, and iteration. You'll build across the full stack, creating responsive frontends and secure, reliable backends and infrastructure. You'll partner closely with product, design, and cross-functional teams to translate vision into shipped product, prototype quickly to validate ideas, and harden winners into scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and shipping products customers actually use, tackling challenges like cross-border compliance automation, AI applications for financial services, and simplified global workflows
- Writing clean, reliable, well-tested, well-documented code and defining best practices for development, testing, deployment, and monitoring
- Proactively monitoring and resolving production issues to maintain fast, secure, and reliable experiences
- Staying current with industry trends and bringing new tools and patterns to improve systems
- Working effectively across time zones with a diverse, global team
The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the Palo Alto office. Tensec's team is distributed across San Francisco, New York, Miami, Monterrey, and São Paulo, and the company is backed by top VCs including Quiet Capital, Costanoa Ventures, and Coinbase Ventures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with hands-on full-stack delivery (modern frontend frameworks plus API development and database design)
- Track record of shipping products to real end users and iterating based on feedback
- Proven experience with popular frameworks; React and Node.js (or comparable) preferred
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, CI/CD, and monitoring tools
- Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) and enthusiasm for using them
- Stack-agnostic mindset with versatility to quickly learn and adapt
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong product instincts, and entrepreneurial spirit
- Deep empathy for customers and passion for elevating user experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse teams and stakeholders
- Experience in or strong desire to work in early-stage startup environments
- Prior fintech industry experience preferred
