Join Tanium's Platform & Infrastructure engineering team in Kraków as a Software Engineer. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on building and maintaining the internal systems that power Tanium's endpoint platform development, validation, and deployment.
You will own critical infrastructure components including Kubernetes-based environment management, VM provisioning and templating, and CI/CD pipelines that serve the entire engineering organization. Working closely with QA, platform, and developer-experience teams, you'll ensure these systems remain reliable, observable, and user-friendly across the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and operating GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines for cross-platform native and TypeScript/Node.js builds
- Managing Kubernetes clusters and workloads, diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure issues
- Owning the VM template build pipeline using Packer and HCL, including OS image creation and base-image refresh cycles
- Driving adoption of modern CI patterns to replace legacy approaches
- Improving observability across pipelines and infrastructure through logs, metrics, and alerts
- Partnering with engineering teams to keep test pipelines fast, stable, and trustworthy
- Managing dependency update automation and shared tooling consumed across engineering
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong track record in platform, infrastructure, or test-infrastructure engineering
- Strong proficiency in Go and TypeScript/Node.js for production services and tooling
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience including cluster operations, workload orchestration, networking, and production troubleshooting
- Experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter and image-build tooling such as Packer
- Large-scale CI/CD systems experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent
- Understanding of cloud identity, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC
- Track record of owning complex, cross-team technical initiatives end-to-end
- Excellent written communication skills for design documents, specs, and async updates
