ServiceNow is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build AI-powered features into its platform, leveraging large language models, machine learning, and agentic capabilities to deliver intelligent, context-aware experiences. You will build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes, including code reviews and unit testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement AI-powered features that integrate LLMs, machine learning, and agentic capabilities
- Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own code from design through implementation, testing, and delivery
- Design software that is simple to use and allows customers to extend and customize functionality
- Help design and implement new products and features while enhancing the existing product suite
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high engineering standards

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving (using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact)
- 0-2+ years of experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language
- Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, with focus on reusability and componentization
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Experience with modern UI frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
- Analytical and design skills
- Working knowledge and ability to use development tools (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, ServiceNow instances, profilers, system administration/Unix tools)
