Graphcore is building the future of AI compute as part of the SoftBank Group. The Collectives team is responsible for developing the Collectives Communication Library, which enables users to utilize large computing clusters efficiently. This library provides communication primitives optimized for high bandwidth and low latency at very high scale, integrated with Graphcore's new AI hardware accelerators. As a Software Engineer on the Collectives team, you will design, develop, and maintain complex software systems that bridge custom hardware and the broader AI ecosystem. Your primary responsibilities include implementing, testing, and documenting the Collectives Communication Library for new AI hardware accelerators; collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and test new features; troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues; ensuring seamless integration of new hardware with existing AI infrastructure; and participating in agile development as part of a scrum team. You should have strong experience in C++ software development, with proficiency in Python and C as well. Essential skills include problem-solving and debugging complex issues, familiarity with unit testing frameworks (Boost.Test, Google Test), build tools (CMake, Make, Ninja), and version control systems (Git). Desirable qualifications include experience with RDMA networking libraries (libibverbs, libfabric), multithreading and parallel computing concepts for AI/ML and HPC systems, inter-process communication (IPC) techniques, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), communication libraries (NCCL, MPI), machine learning frameworks (PyTorch), and modern C++ standards (C++17/20). Graphcore offers a competitive salary (PLN 196,000–265,000), annual leave, medical and dental health plans, gym membership, and matched pension contributions (up to 4%). The company is committed to building an inclusive work environment and welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds.
