ClearGov is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team as a key technical contributor across their cloud-based applications. You will work across multiple product lines, integrating acquired technologies, improving performance, and driving technical excellence across a growing ecosystem.
In this role, you'll serve as a senior full-stack technical contributor, responsible for designing and delivering complex software features from concept to deployment. Your work will span frontend, backend, database, and cloud services. You'll build responsive frontend applications using Angular and React, develop backend services and APIs using Node.js, Java, and Spring Boot, and support data-intensive budgeting and reporting workflows.
A significant aspect of this position involves contributing to AI-enabled product capabilities. You'll work with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic and vector search, embeddings, and prompt orchestration. You'll also apply AI-assisted software development practices using tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.
You'll participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and peer code reviews while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You'll address technical debt, resolve production issues, and help deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with a minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a SaaS environment. You should have proficiency in Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; experience with Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, and Express; and strong knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL databases and API design. Experience with AI-assisted development tools and RAG/vector search technologies is essential. You should be comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
