Candescent is transforming how financial institutions deliver intelligent banking experiences through digital banking, account opening, and branch solutions. The company combines human-centered design with data, automation, and cloud-based innovation on an API-first architecture.
In this Software Engineer role, you will design and implement scalable, cloud-native infrastructure and backend services that power the platform. You'll develop automation frameworks and CI/CD deployment pipelines to streamline application deployment and cloud provisioning, ensuring rapid and reliable releases.
Key responsibilities include building internal tools and systems for monitoring, alerting, and observability—including real-user simulation and synthetic checks—to maintain system health and performance. You'll create and maintain data pipelines and dashboards that surface application performance insights and support service-level objectives (SLOs).
You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and architects to design systems with reliability, scalability, and maintainability at the forefront. This includes contributing to architectural discussions, writing design documents, and participating in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
On the technical side, you'll write clean, testable, and maintainable code for backend systems and developer tooling, deploy and operate applications in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP), and troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, with demonstrated knowledge of backend languages (Python, Go, Bash), CI/CD pipeline development, production-level containerized applications, monitoring and observability tools for distributed systems, and cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) including VPC, networking, and managed services. The position offers part-time telecommuting flexibility.
