Applied Intuition UK is a software and infrastructure supplier delivering next-generation autonomous capabilities to defense and national security customers across air, land, sea, and space domains. As a Software Engineer on the UK engineering team, you will work on high-performance, mission-critical systems that power autonomous platforms for warfighters and allied forces.
Your role will be dynamic and varied. Some days you'll be in the field, working alongside forward deployment teams to integrate solutions with customer platforms and technologies. Other days you'll be designing new products to meet evolving customer and partner requirements. You'll have the opportunity to learn from talented engineers with backgrounds from Palantir, Anduril, SpaceX, Google, Lockheed Martin, and UK/US Armed Services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and optimize high-performance libraries, modules, and products from incubation through production
- Write, test, and debug efficient modern C++ code for complex software solutions, leveraging AI tooling
- Collaborate closely with product managers and customers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Contribute to build automation, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines
- Build software you're proud of and watch it be deployed and used in real-world scenarios
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
- 2+ years of hands-on experience developing performant modern C++, or strong willingness to learn (C++ is the primary language)
- Strong procedural and object-oriented programming experience with clean code principles and good design patterns
- Experience developing in Docker and containerized environments, and working with Linux-based operating systems
- Ability to hold UK Security Clearance (current or previous clearance preferred)
- General willingness to travel between offices and customer sites
Nice-to-have skills include experience with distributed systems, simulation technology, autonomy, Bazel/Nix, infrastructure deployment, and prior national security project work.
