The company develops intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products based on advanced medium-voltage solid-state transformer technology. With electricity demand surging due to AI data centers, electric vehicles, and industrial growth, and energy supply diversifying across solar, gas, and batteries, Amperesand is modernizing infrastructure that has remained largely unchanged for nearly 100 years. As a Software Engineer, you will develop highly efficient and modular software to automate test systems for internal labs and manufacturing lines. You'll design a scalable software framework in Golang to test high-voltage power electronics, thermal systems, and related components, supporting lab validation, regression testing, and production environments. Key responsibilities include: - Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks in Golang for high-voltage power electronics and thermal systems - Drive end-to-end test software development from design through deployment and continuous improvement - Lead and participate in code reviews to maintain quality and coding standards - Innovate software and system design to optimize accuracy, cycle time, and performance - Collaborate closely with hardware design and firmware teams to understand product functionality and drive improvements - Participate hands-on in test hardware bring-up, system debugging, and software optimization - Incorporate design techniques for validation and maintenance ease - Travel to different facilities worldwide to collaborate and deploy solutions Required qualifications: - BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering - 1+ years of professional experience developing software for distributed systems - Basic understanding of electrical theory - Experience with testing and measurement hardware platforms - Expertise in system-level languages (Golang, Rust, C, C++, etc.) for automation - Ability to write efficient code under resource constraints - Experience with Git version control - Experience with microcontrollers and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C) - Proactive, engaged approach to challenging tasks with strong ownership and accountability
