Salary: USD 150,000 - 230,000 / annual
Genius AI is building an agentic workforce—AI systems that act autonomously on behalf of appointment-based business owners. The company's products (GlossGenius, Reception, and others) handle admin work like booking, marketing, client management, finances, and inventory for local service businesses. To date, Genius AI technology has saved businesses 106M admin hours, generated $2.0B in additional revenue, and facilitated 624M+ client touchpoints across 120,000+ businesses.
You'll join as a Software Engineer on one of two paths: product engineers ship AI-powered features directly to customers, architecting net-new capabilities that weren't possible before; platform engineers build the scalable, reliable infrastructure that makes those AI products work at scale. Both paths require you to build with AI as a default layer—not an occasional tool—and to own work end-to-end from technical design through production.
Key responsibilities include architecting and shipping AI-powered features that transform how service businesses operate; building and maintaining large-scale systems processing billions in payments with reliability and performance as non-negotiables; using AI to architect, debug, write, and review code; owning your work end-to-end with full accountability; building platform infrastructure that removes friction for product teams; and challenging how the company builds by proposing faster paths and better architectures.
The role requires 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of production systems (not just team contributions), hands-on experience shipping AI-powered features or systems (beyond AI-assisted editors), a bias toward shipping real work and iterating over lengthy planning, strong analytical instincts for efficiency and scalability, entrepreneurial ownership mindset, and collaborative instincts that elevate the engineers around you.
Tech stack includes Kotlin (Micronaut, jOOQ), gRPC, protobuf, TypeScript/JavaScript (React, Redux), React Native, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, and Terraform. You must be commutable to the SF office and will work hybrid (3–4 days per week in-office, with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
