Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company building the platform for the next generation of software—products built, extended, and operated by agents. As a member of the AI SDK Team, you will develop and enhance Vercel's TypeScript toolkit for building AI-native products and agents, working with a distributed team of talented engineers. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the AI SDK to meet high-performance standards and integrate seamlessly with Vercel's deployment platform. Your day-to-day work includes writing clean, efficient, well-documented code; conducting comprehensive testing to ensure reliability and stability; and collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and infrastructure experts. You will engage with the open-source community, participate in discussions, and contribute to related projects, aligning with Vercel's commitment to giving back to developers. You'll actively gather feedback from developers and users to drive continuous improvement and innovation in the SDK. The role requires at least 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, and experience with modern frontend development tools. Open-source contribution experience is expected. You should have excellent communication skills and thrive in collaborative team environments. If based within commuting distance of Vercel offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. Vercel offers competitive compensation including equity, inclusive healthcare, mentorship and professional development opportunities, flexible time off, and equipment/WFH budget.
