qlub is a fast-scaling fintech backed by Mastercard, Mubadala, e&, and Shorooq, transforming restaurant payments. The company has raised $72M and operates across multiple markets globally. As a Software Engineer in AI Native Development, you will design, build, and operate secure, scalable payment services including gateways, transaction processing, reconciliation, and settlement flows. You'll build integrations with POS systems, payment providers, and financial partners while leveraging AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing AI-powered agentic workflows that retrieve data, call tools, interact with internal systems, and execute controlled actions. You'll implement appropriate permissions, human approvals, guardrails, observability, auditability, and fallback mechanisms for these systems. You'll identify performance bottlenecks and improve speed, reliability, security, and cost efficiency of payment and AI workflows. The role requires writing clean, maintainable, tested code following financial-system security best practices, and contributing to technical design discussions and architecture decisions.
You should have proven experience building production-grade software in fast-moving, high-growth environments. Required skills include fluency in Golang, practical experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows. You need strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing, distributed systems, databases, and data modeling. Experience with POS systems, payment providers, complex integrations, and production AI applications is essential. Understanding of AI-system risks including hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage, and unsafe tool execution is critical. Experience with automated testing, observability, debugging, and performance optimization is required.
Nice-to-have qualifications include background in payments, fintech, or hospitality tech; experience with payment gateways and settlement systems; AI agent development; model evaluation and prompt management; vector databases and semantic search; cloud platforms and CI/CD; PCI DSS compliance; and React/modern frontend development.
