Diligent is hiring Software Engineers for its Platform AI Service team in Vancouver, BC. This role sits within Diligent's Technical Center of Excellence and focuses on designing, building, and operating core services that power AI-driven capabilities across Diligent's global GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) product suite.
You will build secure, scalable, serverless services on AWS that translate AI research and models into production-ready solutions, enabling customers to derive insights from governance data. Working closely with AI researchers, product managers, and other engineering teams, you'll own services end-to-end: architecture, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement secure, scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using AWS serverless technology (event-driven, infrastructure as code)
- Collaborate with AI researchers to translate LLM capabilities into robust, production-grade services
- Build and maintain deployment pipelines for AI services at scale—observable, resilient, and cost-effective
- Use AI-powered development tools (code assistants, test generation) responsibly to accelerate delivery
- Participate in architecture discussions and design reviews
- Work in a collaborative, agile environment optimizing for team productivity and DORA metrics
Required experience includes professional software engineering in agile environments, hands-on AWS expertise, backend proficiency (Node.js/TypeScript or Python, RESTful APIs, SQL), frontend familiarity (React or Angular), practical use of AI tools with sound judgment, working understanding of AI/LLM concepts, and strong communication skills.
Preferred skills: AWS CDK, TypeScript, React, microservices, event-driven architecture, CI/CD pipelines, production AI deployment experience, and MLOps knowledge (prompt management, data drift, RAG pipelines).
Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
