Sierra is building a platform enabling companies to deliver better, more human customer experiences with AI. The company partners with industry leaders like SoftBank, Uber, Rivian, CLEAR, and Sutter Health. Co-founded by Bret Taylor (former Salesforce co-CEO, OpenAI Board Chair, Google Maps co-creator) and Clay Bavor (18 years at Google, led Google Labs and AR/VR initiatives), Sierra is headquartered in San Francisco with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
As a Software Engineer on the Agent team, you will design and deliver production-grade AI agents that are mission-critical and drive revenue for Sierra's growth. These are not prototypes but powerful, scalable systems running in production across finance, healthcare, and commerce. You'll own the complete Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC) from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration, building, tuning, and evolving AI agents in production environments.
You'll partner directly with large enterprises and cutting-edge startups, understanding their pressing business challenges and building AI agents that transform operations at scale. Recent projects include designing AI agents for telecommunications and media companies that outperform human agents in managing subscription churn, developing agents for complex customer interactions like device troubleshooting and personalized recommendations, creating industry-specific AI agent frameworks for financial services, and experimenting with latest voice models at enterprise scale.
Your direct customer work will guide the evolution of Sierra's core platform. You'll surface unmet needs, prototype new tools and features, and collaborate with research, product, and platform teams to shape the future of AI agent development.
