Sierra is building a platform enabling companies to deliver better, more human customer experiences powered by AI. The company partners with industry leaders including SoftBank, Uber, Rivian, CLEAR, and Sutter Health. Founded by Bret Taylor (former Salesforce co-CEO, Facebook CTO, Google Maps co-creator) and Clay Bavor (18-year Google veteran who led Google Labs, AR/VR, and Google Workspace), Sierra is headquartered in San Francisco with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia. As a Software Engineer on the Agent team, you will design and deliver production-grade AI agents that are mission-critical and drive revenue. You'll own the complete Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC) from pilot through deployment and continuous iteration, building highly performant, reliable, and intuitive systems running in production across finance, healthcare, and commerce. Key responsibilities include: designing and shipping production AI agents central to Sierra's growth; driving the full ADLC with complete ownership and autonomy; partnering directly with enterprise leaders and cutting-edge startups to understand business challenges and build transformative AI solutions; and surfacing unmet needs to guide platform evolution alongside research, product, and platform teams. Recent project examples include building AI agents for telecommunications and media companies that outperform human agents in managing subscription churn; developing agents capable of navigating complex customer interactions like device troubleshooting and personalized recommendations; creating generalizable AI agent frameworks for industry-specific use cases; facilitating design partnerships for new product initiatives; and experimenting with latest voice models for enterprise-grade integration. Required qualifications: experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems; strong technical problem-solving in fast-changing, ambiguous environments; builder mindset with high agency; comfort working directly with customers; and strong English and Korean communication skills. Preferred qualifications: experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production; founding or founding engineer background; familiarity with eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering; experience with React, TypeScript, or Go; and prior customer-facing or technical leadership roles.
