Salary: CAD 170,000 - 180,000 / annual

Lightspeed Financial Services is hiring a Software Development Manager to lead and grow a high-performing technical team within their Financial Services organization. You will report to the Director of Financial Services Foundations and be responsible for guiding, mentoring, and developing a team of software engineers delivering mission-critical financial products and services. Key responsibilities include: leading a team of developers solving complex problems in the Financial Services domain; directly and indirectly managing through collaboration with a Technical Lead Staff Engineer; working closely with architects, Product teams, and engineering leadership to align on priorities and roadmaps; identifying and removing impediments to delivery; planning professional growth through 1-1s, performance reviews, and feedback; hiring top talent; and providing technical and process guidance during delivery. You bring proven experience leading developer teams through successful product delivery, with strong knowledge of microservice-driven, scalable, cloud-based applications. Technical expertise in Java, TypeScript, Ruby, or Python is required, along with professional experience in agile development and continuous delivery practices. You are an excellent communicator with strong people skills, capable of coaching and mentoring individuals to reach their potential. You embrace complexity, remove roadblocks, and make decisive decisions in a fast-moving environment. Bonus qualifications include payments domain experience, SaaS scalability expertise, full-stack web development, cloud services knowledge (AWS/GCP), project management or Scrum certification, and test automation or DevOps experience.
