MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is a mobile-first work execution platform used by over 13,000 customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo to optimize operations across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.
You will lead one of several engineering teams as a Software Development Manager, managing 5–6 developers and owning delivery, quality, and day-to-day priorities for your team's area. This is a single hiring pipeline across product and platform teams. Current openings include:
**Reporting Team**: Own the product surface where customers measure MaintainX value, transforming millions of work orders and asset events into dashboards and insights that maintenance leaders present to executives. This high-visibility team has a direct line from shipped features to customer renewal decisions.
**Identity & Access Management Team**: Build systems powering secure and seamless access across the MaintainX platform, designing and operating authentication, authorization, and governance services that scale with enterprise customers while maintaining frictionless, trusted user experience.
**Search Team**: Design and build MaintainX's end-to-end search and retrieval platform, working across indexing, ranking, and semantic retrieval so technicians and managers find assets, procedures, and work orders in seconds.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage team of 5–6 developers; own their delivery, quality, and priorities
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to scope, plan, and deliver against high reliability standards
- Coach and grow developers; help them build skills, solve hard problems, and plan career progression
- Shape hiring; interview candidates and raise talent bar as teams expand
- Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback so team knows its standing
- Champion CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices across team systems
- Give senior leadership visibility into team impact, progress, and risk
**Requirements:**
- 2–3 years of people leadership experience with a track record of leading teams that ship
- Strong technical foundation; comfortable performing at senior level with system design, computer science fundamentals, and modern web technologies
- Experience with technical design, problem-solving, and project management (Jira experience preferred)
- Genuine interest in hiring, coaching, and developing engineers, not just directing them
- Comfort partnering with Recruiting and other managers to hire and scale the organization
- Excellent communication skills; able to carry tradeoff conversations equally well with engineers and non-technical stakeholders
MaintainX does not have a minimum in-office mandate but prefers teams located around office hubs; in Canada this includes Montreal and Toronto. Compensation includes base pay, and depending on role may include commission, annual bonus, and equity. Benefits differ by country; Canadian roles include health coverage, retirement, and leave plans.
