HealthEdge is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their engineering team. You will be embedded alongside developers, creating reliable and comprehensive automation tests using their in-house Java-based automation framework. The role focuses on developing and extending test automation tools, executing both white-box and black-box testing, and creating test plans based on complex data scenarios.
Key responsibilities include: developing automation in existing tools and frameworks; executing comprehensive testing strategies; identifying testing gaps and implementing process improvements; contributing to DevOps and CI/CD pipeline enhancements; collaborating with product managers and developers to clarify requirements and ensure on-time releases; and participating in product demonstrations.
You will work with complex, data-driven healthcare applications and routinely debug code to identify root causes of defects. The role requires strong technical skills across multiple testing domains and frameworks.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of professional software development experience; expertise in UI test automation tools (Katalon, Cypress, or similar); API testing proficiency (soapUI, RestAssured, or similar); performance testing experience (Jmeter, K6, or similar); familiarity with test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Rspec, Fitness, TestNG); proficiency in object-oriented languages (Java, C#, C++); scripting language skills (JavaScript, Python, Ruby); relational database experience (Oracle, MySQL); Agile/Scrum methodology knowledge; DevOps tools experience (Ansible, Jenkins); strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; enterprise architecture and SOA familiarity; Git proficiency; excellent communication skills; and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
Desirable qualifications include Docker knowledge, Linux experience, WebLogic application server experience, and healthcare domain expertise. This is a full-time, permanent, exempt position offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to work on mission-critical healthcare software.
