Salary: USD 220,000 - 290,000 / annual

As a Senior Software Development Engineer III, you will own complex technical problems from design through deployment. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, Security, and Operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. The role offers opportunities to work across three core technology pillars: Core Identity, CLEAR1, and CLEAR Travel. You'll advance capabilities across multiple industries while gaining hands-on experience with privacy, security, data modeling, and architecture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering code across the full stack, driving engineering excellence through best practices in testing, documentation, and observability
- Partnering with product and stakeholders to uncover requirements, innovate, and solve complex problems
- Taking strong ownership of architectural decision-making and striving for continuous improvement in technology and processes
- Mentoring less experienced team members and articulating technical concepts to mixed audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders
Tech stack: Java, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Argo, and Jenkins.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of backend software development experience in Java
- Cloud-based application development experience with fluency in several of: AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, GitHub, Argo, Jenkins
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to mixed audiences
- Experience collaborating and mentoring less experienced team members
- Comfort with ambiguity and autonomous problem-solving
- Curiosity about technology and commitment to continuous learning
