Zscaler is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the ZPA Datapath team within the ZTNA department, reporting to a Senior Manager. This hybrid role is based in Bangalore and focuses on developing and optimizing network applications and protocols that power the world's largest cloud security platform.
You will be responsible for developing and optimizing network applications and protocols using C/C++, designing efficient data structures for network data processing, and handling system-level programming in Linux environments. The role involves analyzing network performance to identify bottlenecks and implementing optimization solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and design architectures, and conducting thorough code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure robust and reliable software.
The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience in distributed and enterprise-scale environments with strong C programming knowledge for network-related data handling. You should have deep expertise in Linux environments including system-level programming, scripting, and troubleshooting, plus solid understanding of networking protocols and traffic management technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and QUIC. A foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging or securing AI-driven solutions is required.
Preferred qualifications include proven ability to apply AI/ML models or predictive analytics to optimize network traffic routing or detect datapath anomalies, experience with L3 protocols, routing, and BGP, and a track record of proposing enhancements to cloud-based networking systems to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
