BinSentry is a fast-growing ag-tech company based in Kitchener, Ontario, focused on providing solutions for the agriculture supply chain. The company uses artificial intelligence paired with optical sensors to help feed mills and protein producers enhance forecasting, improve decision-making, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability. BinSentry currently monitors over 70,000 bins in real time across North America. You will join a team of 10 developers to build new software features for the BinSentry platform. This is a new position created due to growing business needs. You'll work as a generalist developer, taking feedback from the product team and translating it into improvements across both backend and UI. The team moves fast with minimal bureaucracy, and you'll be responsible for creating intuitive interfaces and building underlying systems that keep the platform running seamlessly. You'll work across the full stack, with exposure to React and Node.js on the frontend and backend, and AWS services including DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, and serverless architecture. The role emphasizes a product mentality—understanding how to maximize customer value—alongside technical excellence, long-term maintainability, and attention to detail. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Proficiency in JavaScript (React, Node.js required) - AWS proficiency (DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, Serverless) is a plus - Computer vision and ML experience is a plus - Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies - Strong focus on long-term code maintenance and system design - Detail-oriented and completeness-driven approach - Ability to prioritize tasks, estimate realistically, and manage time effectively - Problem-solving mindset; proactive, collaborative team player
