The AI Platform Foundations team, part of Platform Engineering, is building shared AI tooling and governance infrastructure to enable hundreds of developers to ship faster and with confidence.
In this role, you'll contribute to building a shared AI-assisted development platform that consolidates custom LLM tools into a governed, reusable infrastructure. You'll design and implement components that bring AI-powered automation to the development lifecycle—from code review assistance and PR helpers to intelligent deployment checks. Your work will directly influence how Wealthsimple's engineers write, review, and ship code.
Key responsibilities include: building shared AI tooling and infrastructure that engineering teams adopt with confidence; implementing guardrails and policy controls that keep AI interactions safe, compliant, and aligned with company standards; shipping features across a polyglot stack (Ruby on Rails, Python, TypeScript, Java/Kotlin); and using metrics to measure impact and inform prioritization.
You'll work in a collaborative environment with senior and staff engineers, contributing to documentation, code reviews, and onboarding. The role emphasizes a product mindset for internal platforms—thinking of developer tooling as a product with engineers as customers—and data-informed decision-making.
