Platform9 is seeking an experienced Staff Backend Engineer to contribute to the development of its cloud-native product suite. The role involves designing and implementing features for Platform9's Private Cloud Director, a flagship product that transforms enterprise hardware into full-featured private clouds. You will work on cloud infrastructure deployments, troubleshoot complex issues, and continuously improve product performance, scalability, and reliability.
The ideal candidate has a strong computer science background with 5–8 years of software development experience, particularly in cloud-native and virtualization technologies. Proficiency in Python or Golang is required, along with deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking protocols or storage systems. Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack/Devstack) is highly valued. Additional expertise in Linux networking stack, IAM, kernel modules, and device drivers is a plus.
