Apigee is seeking a Site Reliability Manager for Android SRE to lead a team responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of Android-related systems and infrastructure. In this role, you will manage a team of experienced engineers, set technical strategy, and provide guidance to enable effective execution and on-time delivery. You will conduct technical deep dives into complex distributed systems issues, collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, and work to inspire and motivate your team to operate as a cohesive, highly productive unit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and recruiting a team of experienced SRE engineers
- Analyzing and optimizing global distributed systems for reliability and performance
- Setting and driving technical strategy while providing hands-on technical guidance
- Conducting technical deep dives and strategic discussions with executive leadership
- Ensuring the team executes effectively, delivers on time, and stays within budget
- Fostering a collaborative engineering culture focused on system reliability and mobile deployment excellence
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of experience analyzing global distributed systems
- 3 years of experience managing people or teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with mobile development and application deployment
- Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design
- Expertise in Unix/Linux systems, IP networking, and troubleshooting performance and application issues
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate engineering teams
- Experience recruiting and managing experienced engineers on complex projects
- Capability for technical deep dives and strategic discussions with senior leadership
