Blitzy is an AI software development platform that autonomously builds custom software, transforming how enterprises develop applications. As a Site Reliability Engineer on the Public Sector team, you will be the founding reliability engineer for Blitzy's government and defense business, deploying and operating the self-hosted platform within a customer's secure cloud environment.
You will serve as Blitzy's embedded technical presence on a high-impact government account, responsible for deploying, operating, and maintaining the Kubernetes-based platform in a highly regulated, security-conscious environment. Your core responsibilities include managing the self-hosted deployment architecture, owning Kubernetes releases and upgrades, designing observability systems (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) that operate within the customer's security boundary, and partnering directly with customer infrastructure, security, and governance teams.
In your first 30 days, you'll gain deep understanding of Blitzy's deployment architecture and begin customer onboarding. By 90 days, you'll have stood up and hardened the deployment with monitoring and incident response workflows meeting security requirements. Within 6 months, the platform will run reliably at scale with defined SLOs, and you'll be the trusted technical voice for the customer's infrastructure and security teams.
Required qualifications include U.S. citizenship (customer badging requirement), 3+ years in SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering, strong Kubernetes proficiency, hands-on experience in restricted or regulated network environments (defense, government, financial services), infrastructure-as-code expertise (Terraform, Pulumi), deep observability and incident management knowledge, and strong scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash). Excellent communication is essential as you'll work directly with customer stakeholders.
What makes this role unique: you're not maintaining legacy systems but building the playbook for Blitzy's government and defense expansion. You'll have direct influence over architectural decisions, work with world-class engineers, and see immediate impact. The company is one of the fastest-growing in the U.S., backed by tier-1 investors, and founded by proven entrepreneurs. This is a greenfield opportunity to shape how the world's most security-conscious enterprises adopt AI-powered software development.
