Emburse is an AI-powered expense intelligence platform helping organizations modernize financial operations and optimize spend across the enterprise. As a Site Reliability Engineer III, you will be a senior technical contributor responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and security of Emburse's cloud infrastructure and services.
You will develop software and fixes to integrate internal systems, ensure code quality, test and distribute updates, and monitor server health and stability. Key responsibilities include meeting SLAs and error budgets, identifying and executing preventative measures to minimize customer impact, and employing deep troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, databases, networking, and code. You will code and automate applications on cloud platforms, work with engineering leadership to build shared services, and collaborate with cloud platform and operations leaders on sprint planning and epic development.
You will own technically complex issues that cross DevOps, databases, networking, infrastructure, and people domains, driving them to completion. You will define non-functional requirements to influence new designs and standards for scalable, highly available distributed systems. The role includes mentoring SRE I and II engineers, guiding junior engineers in best practices, and assisting with investigation, testing, and deployment activities. You will prepare engineering documents for stakeholders, provide feedback in design reviews, and liaise between teams to align operational and product priorities.
The position is approximately 70% hands-on technical work in a distributed Linux environment, with strong emphasis on infrastructure as code, scripting, and automation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM field (required)
- Minimum 7 years' experience in an engineering role (required)
- Deep understanding of infrastructure as code, scripting, self-healing, containers, and DevOps tooling (highly desired)
- Strong Kubernetes experience
- Observability background
- AWS experience preferred; Azure optional
- Experience with Ansible and Terraform tools (highly desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Full lifecycle SaaS implementation and infrastructure as code experience
- Excellent follow-up and project management skills
- Proven ability to create and maintain new tools
- Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills
- Strong scripting skills; OOP is a plus
- Experience working with offshore teams
