Blockchain.com is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Core infrastructure team. The company is a leading global crypto platform with 90+ million wallet holders and 40+ million verified users, facilitating over $1 trillion in transactions annually.
In this role, you will be responsible for evolving the infrastructure of a distributed financial platform serving millions of customers daily. You will develop deep understanding of product infrastructure needs and create engineering solutions that improve customer experience while maintaining security, reliability, and scalability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Playing a critical role in solving complex technical problems around reliability, latency, bandwidth, and security
- Improving observability, monitoring, and alerting across the platform
- Coordinating work across teams to ensure efficient execution
- Centralizing duplicated work streams across developer teams
- Building tooling to eliminate manual, repetitive work at scale
- Guiding and educating developer teams on secure, scalable feature delivery
Required experience:
- Containerization and service orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, or Nomad/Consul/Vault preferred)
- Strong programming skills in at least one language (Golang, Python, Bash preferred)
- Deep Linux knowledge including resource allocation, networking, and internals
- Cloud infrastructure experience (GCP or AWS)
- Modern monitoring tools (Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana, Telegraf)
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Configuration management tools (Saltstack preferred)
- GitOps and CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Messaging systems (Kafka)
- Database management
- Optional: data center experience, routing/switching protocols
The role is based in London with mandatory in-office presence four days per week. The company offers competitive salary based on experience, meaningful equity, unlimited vacation, flexible work culture, and the ability to work remotely up to 20 days annually.
