Pico is a global financial services infrastructure company headquartered in New York, providing market data services and managed infrastructure solutions to the capital markets community. The Site Reliability Engineering team is customer-facing and works across development, production, and customer teams to ensure successful implementation and operation of Redline products.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting clients in solving problems and maximizing the value of Redline products within their enterprises. Key responsibilities include responding promptly to production issues, providing workarounds, and replicating customer issues to verify fixes. You will manage production environments including software upgrades, routine changes, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning of applications. You'll assess the impact of exchange-driven initiatives and participate in relevant testing activities.
You will work closely with development engineers to resolve customer requests quickly and collaborate with Pico's server and network teams for troubleshooting and change management. A significant part of the role involves elevating the Redline managed practice through automation, scripting, and continuous improvement of monitoring tools, inventory systems, and runbooks.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or MIS) or equivalent work experience. You should have experience with financial services front office systems, market data tickerplants, order execution technology, and the global exchange technology landscape. Strong Linux and Linux performance tuning knowledge is essential, along with solid understanding of Intel-based computer architecture and IT systems networking. Programming and scripting experience is required, with Python, C/C++, or Java as a plus. Excellent customer service attitude, interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication are critical.
This is a hybrid position with weekly office time and work-from-home flexibility. The role operates on a follow-the-sun model across EMEA, USA, and APAC time zones, requiring an 8-hour shift between 8am-7pm Monday to Friday with rotational arrangements. Early or late shifts, bank holidays, and infrequent weekend tests may be required.
