Ivo is a contract intelligence platform that uses AI to analyze and extract insights from legal documents. The company serves enterprise customers like Uber, Meta, Canva, IBM, and Shopify, and recently completed a Series B funding round with 800% growth over the past 12 months.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will own the reliability, uptime, and performance of Ivo's infrastructure end-to-end. Each customer receives an isolated environment with dedicated containers, databases, and VPCs, requiring robust systems to meet SLAs even when cloud providers experience incidents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and enforcing SLI, SLO, and SLA targets to minimize on-call pages
- Designing failover and disaster recovery systems that work in real-world scenarios
- Implementing data residency and geo-fencing requirements for customer isolation
- Building security controls that pass audits without degrading product performance
- Creating observability systems that answer what broke, why, and how often
- Leading incident response and writing postmortems that drive organizational learning
You should have a minimum of 2 years of infrastructure experience, think in failure modes, and design systems that continue operating despite failures. The ability to translate business and contractual requirements into infrastructure constraints is valuable. While experience with LLMs is not required, enthusiasm for the technology is encouraged.
This is not a "keep the lights on" role—you'll be building foundational systems that enable the entire company. You'll work closely with the engineering team in a fast-growing startup environment where pragmatism, resourcefulness, and bias toward action are valued. The role requires in-person presence in the San Francisco office five days per week.
