Anduril Industries is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Imaging team, which builds and deploys state-of-the-art camera and sensor systems for U.S. and allied military applications. This is a field-focused SRE role, not a traditional cloud-SRE position. You will be the frontline for keeping deployed imaging systems operational, serving as the escalation point when field personnel and customer support encounter issues with systems in production environments.
You will own the reliability and uptime of fielded imaging systems across the full stack—from bare-metal hardware and firmware to networked services and cloud integrations. Your responsibilities include triaging and diagnosing issues that may originate anywhere in the system (networking, calibration, upgrades, sensor hardware), running point on customer escalations, and converting recurring problems into durable runbooks and self-service diagnostics. You will act as the deep-expertise backstop for Tier 0 and Mission Success support channels, protecting engineering focus by handling everything short of code fixes.
The work is varied and often ambiguous. You might spend a morning troubleshooting a networking failure at a remote deployment site, an afternoon walking a field operator through sensor calibration over the phone, and the rest of the week hardening runbooks to prevent repeat incidents. You will feed field reliability insights back into product design, improving observability, upgrade safety, and failure gracefully. Approximately 15% travel is expected for field support and deployment windows.
Required qualifications include 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, field/systems engineering, or production support of deployed hardware/software systems with real post-ship ownership. You must have strong Linux fundamentals and comfort troubleshooting networking issues in constrained or field environments. You should be able to diagnose and resolve issues across system boundaries without full visibility into every component, be comfortable with structured on-call rotations including after-hours coverage, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills for remote troubleshooting with non-technical operators. U.S. Secret clearance eligibility is required.
