Impulse seeks a Site Director to lead full operational responsibility for its Propulsion Test Facility in Mojave. This is a senior leadership role overseeing all aspects of site operations including personnel management, test execution, facility maintenance, infrastructure, safety, environmental compliance, scheduling, and continuous improvement.
As the senior operational leader, you will be accountable for protecting personnel and assets while meeting technical, schedule, and business objectives. Key responsibilities include providing overall leadership and operational accountability for safe, reliable, and efficient execution of all site activities; leading, mentoring, and developing a multidisciplinary organization of engineers, technicians, and test operators; owning all aspects of facility operations including test execution, infrastructure, maintenance, and hazardous operations; establishing operational priorities and managing facility schedules, staffing, and resources to support development, qualification, and production test programs.
You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, EHS, and Program Management to ensure the facility meets current program objectives while scaling to future business needs. Additional responsibilities include overseeing facility maintenance, capital improvements, equipment upgrades, and long-term infrastructure planning; ensuring compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; leading root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives; resolving complex technical and operational challenges; and serving as the primary decision-maker during critical facility operations and emergency situations.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with liquid propulsion systems, hazardous operations, and high-performance test facilities, along with a proven track record of building teams and establishing a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. This position qualifies for Mojave differential pay.
