Helsing is a defence AI company on a mission to protect democracies through technological leadership. The company is building advanced autonomous systems and platforms that require rigorous validation before deployment.
As a Simulation Engineer on the Physical Products team, you will design, build, and maintain high-fidelity simulation environments that model vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, structural behavior, and engagement-level scenarios. Your work is critical to de-risking platform development—simulation allows the team to explore the trade space, understand edge cases, and validate behavior before physical flight testing or deployment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining 6-DOF vehicle dynamics models, aerodynamic simulations, structural models, and/or engagement-level models depending on your technical depth
- Developing Monte Carlo and sensitivity analysis capabilities to explore platform performance across real-world operating conditions, not just nominal cases
- Collaborating closely with guidance, navigation & control (GNC) engineers, mechanical engineers, and systems engineers
- Ensuring simulation models meet the same validation and trustworthiness standards as hardware—you must be able to justify every decision the model informs
- Interpreting flight test data and comparing it against simulation predictions to continuously improve model fidelity
You'll work in a mission-driven environment that takes the ethical implications of defence technology seriously. The team values open debate, transparency, and thoughtful development practices. This is a hands-on engineering role where your models directly influence critical decisions about platform design and capability.
