Zoox is seeking a Shift / Team Lead for Fusion Center Operations on the 3rd shift. This is a people-management role overseeing a team within Fleet Operations, with responsibility for safety culture, performance feedback, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor direct reports with regular written and oral performance feedback in a safety-centric, inclusive environment
- Drive process improvement initiatives focused on safety and efficiency across the Fleet Operations team
- Collaborate with other Team Leads and Program/Project Managers to align team activities with Zoox's strategic goals
- Develop deep expertise in Zoox's proprietary software platforms: TeleOps, Mission Control, and Rider Support
- Manage contractor relationships, answer questions, and ensure clear execution of job assignments
- Support autonomous vehicle missions across a variety of operational roles
- Act as a player/coach, providing hands-on support and serving as the first point of contact for service escalations
- Maintain open communication and cross-functional collaboration in a complex technical environment
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in high-level collaborative environments with demonstrated teamwork mentality
- 3+ years of experience as an Instructor or Lead within an operations team in a highly cross-functional setting
- Proven ability to problem-solve and improve operational efficiency
- Experience working in complex technical environments
- Proactive mindset and resourcefulness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management, and explain technical issues
Bonus Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of autonomous vehicle industry or operations experience
