Physical Intelligence is developing general-purpose AI for robotics, creating learning algorithms to control any robot to perform any task. The Set Team builds and maintains physical environments where robots collect real-world data for research and development.
As Set Team Coordinator, you will be the central planner and executor for all physical set construction, modification, and maintenance. Your responsibilities include:
- Planning and prioritizing weekly build schedules by translating research requirements into actionable construction plans, managing competing priorities across multiple remodels
- Sourcing and purchasing all props, furniture, and environmental items needed for each set, evaluating alternatives and substitutes to meet specifications
- Coordinating day-to-day work with contractor build teams, move crews, and prop specialists across multiple concurrent projects
- Verifying completed sets against specifications and signing off before handoff to research teams for data collection
- Contributing hands-on labor to staging, builds, and ad hoc projects as needed
You will work directly with researchers and environment designers to understand their needs, then translate those into concrete build plans and timelines. This role requires strong project management, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in set building, production design, event installation, retail installation, or facilities management
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate work across multiple teams on tight timelines
- Purchasing experience with strong attention to detail
- Sound judgment and flexibility when requirements change week to week
- Comfort working on your feet and hands-on involvement in physical builds when needed
