As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform Infrastructure team, you will architect, design, and develop projects that make Verkada's infrastructure the most reliable and cost-efficient while scaling to millions of connected devices globally. You'll lead critical efforts around scalability, reliability, and efficiency—examples include rolling out service meshes or designing cost-efficient services ingesting and storing terabytes of video footage. Key responsibilities include identifying and leading critical infrastructure initiatives, influencing platform direction with your own ideas, providing technical mentorship to team members, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to deliver key results aligned with product and organizational objectives. You'll need a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or similar technical field. Required experience includes Python and/or Go, major cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and strong written/verbal communication skills. Preferred qualifications include Terraform, Kubernetes, and service mesh (Istio) experience. You should be comfortable working at the frontier of infrastructure and software development and enthusiastic about learning new infrastructure products and strategies. The role is based in San Mateo, CA, with a commitment to in-office culture.
