Amca is building America's industrial manufacturing base for critical aerospace and defense systems. The company operates seven factories nationwide and manufactures avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, and military vehicles.
You will serve as a senior technical contributor on Amca's design team, owning the overall design process and standards applied across all new products. Reporting directly to the head of engineering, you will develop standardized design processes for both mechanical or electrical systems (depending on your background).
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating standard processes for digesting, tracking, and managing all customer requirements
- Leading conversations with customers regarding requirements and challenging them where appropriate
- Providing design feedback and mentorship to design engineers across the company, balancing risk mitigation with development velocity
- Attending and reviewing all design reviews, providing feedback throughout the process, and tracking action items to closure
- Developing design standards and processes for requirements review, design reviews, and requirement verification
- Minimizing design risk across hardware development
- Working cross-functionally across Amca's factories to advance hardware development practices company-wide
This role is vital to establishing Amca's design excellence as the company scales. You will influence a large percentage of hardware designs and help position Amca at the forefront of aerospace and defense manufacturing. The ideal candidate has experience developing hardware in fast-paced environments and can work effectively across multiple teams and factory locations.
