Wix is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the CTO Team's Backend Engineering Guild in Vilnius. This role is central to Wix's technical operations, where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative backend solutions that support the company's strategic goals.
In this position, you'll work hands-on with Scala, Java, and Node.js to build robust backend services. Your day-to-day responsibilities include working closely with diverse teams to understand their workflows and processes, designing and maintaining systems that improve developer experience, and eliminating velocity blockers. You'll take ownership of technical problems, debug production issues, and deliver high-quality solutions that meet strict quality standards.
You'll be part of a seven-person team of experienced developers from diverse backgrounds, operating in a collaborative environment where technical discussions lead to elegant solutions. The team values ownership, accountability, and mutual support.
Required qualifications: 3+ years of backend development experience, hands-on proficiency with Java and Node.js, strong understanding of OOP and SOLID principles, ability to debug and investigate production issues, team-oriented mindset with ownership mentality, and versatility across technical platforms.
Advantages include proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases, knowledge of gRPC and Protobuf, and familiarity with Scala or other functional programming languages.
