Gatik AI is the leader in autonomous middle-mile logistics, operating Level 4 autonomous trucks on commercial B2B routes for Fortune 500 retailers including Walmart. The company has deployed driverless fleets across Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada. As Senior V&V Engineer – Public Road & Fleet Testing, you will bridge system development and real-world driverless deployment. This role owns validation of autonomous system behavior across active customer routes, ensuring safety and readiness for fully driverless operation. Key responsibilities include: • Define and execute on-road structured testing and shadow fleet evaluation programs for new software builds across commercial customer corridors • Validate map updates and route configurations across customer operational design domains (ODDs) prior to driverless sign-off • Perform deep-dive root-cause analysis on disengagements, anomalies, near-misses, and unexpected vehicle behaviors using log visualization tools (Foxglove, Grafana, SQL, Python) • Track Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) and key performance metrics to quantify system readiness for fully driverless operation • Serve as primary V&V technical owner for vehicle commissioning, operational readiness, and customer route expansion • Translate on-road findings into structured bug reports, regression scenarios for SIL/HIL testing, and action items for autonomy algorithm teams You will work onsite 5 days per week at the Santa Clara, CA office. This role requires 5+ years of field validation, fleet testing, or systems engineering experience with autonomous vehicles or large-scale robotic fleets. A B.S. or M.S. in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or Data Analytics is required. Strong proficiency with data analysis tools, Python, SQL, and familiarity with autonomous vehicle architectures and safety frameworks is expected.
