Gatik AI is the leader in autonomous middle-mile logistics, operating Level 4 autonomous trucks for Fortune 500 retailers. The company has deployed fully driverless commercial transportation services across Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada.
As a Senior V&V Engineer – HIL & Test Bench, you will design, build, and scale Gatik's hardware-in-the-loop testing infrastructure. Your primary responsibility is to validate autonomous vehicle software on production compute units, ECUs, sensors, and drive-by-wire hardware before deployment to physical vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and maintain multi-ECU HIL test benches that represent complete autonomous vehicle electronics architectures
• Integrate sensor simulation technology into real-time test environments
• Develop automated physical and electrical fault-injection test suites (open circuit, short to ground, latency spikes, corrupted signals, power dropouts)
• Write robust Python and C++ test scripts within CI/CD pipelines to execute overnight regression suites on physical HIL rigs
• Execute requirements-based testing to generate formal V&V audit evidence for ISO 26262 hardware functional safety compliance
• Root-cause hardware-software interface bugs, bus timing errors, and ECU communication anomalies alongside Hardware and Autonomy engineering teams
You will work onsite 5 days per week at the Santa Clara, CA office. This role requires 5+ years of experience in HIL test environment development for autonomous driving, ADAS, or automotive systems, plus a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or Robotics.
