As Senior V&V Engineer – Closed Course & Proving Grounds, you will lead the design, orchestration, and execution of rigorous physical test scenarios on proving grounds before autonomous trucks operate on public roads. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you own the end-to-end testing process for new software features, hardware platforms, and safety-critical fallback maneuvers on commercial Class 3-7 trucks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing closed-course test programs, owning the process end-to-end
- Setting up and operating state-of-the-art proving ground equipment including robotic targets and soft targets
- Developing and executing V&V plans, triaging feedback to stakeholders, and tracking issues to resolution
- Analyzing high-precision vehicle dynamics data, IMU outputs, CAN logs, and autonomy telemetry using Python/MATLAB to evaluate dynamic performance
- Enforcing strict track safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency intervention protocols for all track personnel and test drivers
You will work 5 days per week onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office. The role requires a B.S. in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering, plus 5+ years executing vehicle-level closed-course testing on proving grounds for autonomous vehicles, ADAS, or automotive OEMs. You should have direct experience operating soft-target robotic equipment, analyzing vehicle telemetry, and managing safety-critical test protocols.
