Apple's Media Content and Services team is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join the internal tools QA team. This role focuses on testing and automating workflows used by internal teams and partners to deliver streaming content through the TV App, with particular emphasis on live streaming platforms and sports tools.
You will build upon existing UI and backend automation frameworks, write and execute both manual and automated tests targeting Apple TV's internal sports and live streaming video tools, and analyze test results to assess risk and triage issues across teams. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining comprehensive test plans for web-based applications, collaborating with developers, engineering program managers, and QA engineers to understand features deeply and design test automation strategies, and managing an evolving backlog of automation needs according to stakeholder priorities.
You will coordinate test plans among QA engineers, track progress, and report results to leadership. The role also involves evangelizing software testing best practices and influencing architecture and design decisions across the organization.
Required qualifications include extensive experience with automated web UI testing using Selenium and Playwright, API functional testing and test development, proficiency in Python and TypeScript, and strong debugging skills on UNIX-based systems. Deep understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, substantial quality engineering or software development experience, expertise with test automation frameworks (Pytest, JUnit, TestNg), familiarity with web devTools and server-side logging tools like Splunk, and experience in Agile environments. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multifaceted settings, are highly valued.
