Flock Safety is seeking a Senior Video Editor to lead the creative and technical direction of its expanding media engine. You will be Flock's first full-time dedicated editor, owning the end-to-end editorial process for both short-form and long-form video content, including documentary-style case studies, brand campaigns, and product feature spotlights.
You will transform raw field footage, customer interviews, and motion assets into narrative-driven videos that communicate Flock's mission and real-world impact. This role balances two equally important creative disciplines: cinematic, documentary-style storytelling with emotional restraint and narrative patience, alongside high-octane, social-first editing with arresting openings, kinetic pacing, and platform-native design.
Key responsibilities include leading the editorial process from rough cut to final delivery; collaborating directly with creative directors, producers, and marketing teams to establish editorial pacing and visual style; managing post-production workflows including color grading, sound design, audio leveling, and motion graphics integration; and producing multiple format cuts optimized for web, social media, events, and executive presentations.
This is a creative leadership role where you drive narrative direction and shape editorial structure—not a passive task-based position. Field production and camera operation are handled by dedicated teams, allowing you to focus entirely on post-production storytelling. While you will incorporate motion elements, your primary expertise is narrative video editing and visual pacing, not motion graphics or 3D animation.
Flock is a 1,700-person company backed by over $1B in funding, building safety technology that supported over 1 million criminal investigations last year and helped locate more than 10,000 missing people. The role offers real stakes and a fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of experience in video editing across brand stories, documentary narratives, or commercial campaigns
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, with deep mastery of Premiere Pro and solid working knowledge of After Effects
- Demonstrated ability to build compelling narrative arcs from unscripted footage and customer interviews
- Precise eye for pacing, rhythm, visual continuity, and audio mixing
- A reel demonstrating emotional range, narrative intelligence, and technical finish
- Familiarity or working knowledge with platforms like LucidLink, Twelve Labs, and generative AI tools (Runway, Figma Weave) is a plus
